While your site will display any image as a logo if it is added using the steps below, the recommended size for a site logo is 260 pixels wide x 100 pixels high. Larger images will be displayed, but may affect the display of other parts of the site.
If no logo exists and you would like to add one:
- While you are logged in as a user with permission to edit the site, navigate to the main page.
- click on Contents in the top Editing bar to find the folder named "Site Assets". You can also use the search field at the top of your page to find this folder.
- Within the Site Assets folder, find the Images folder.
- Click on the Contents tab.
- if there is not already a file named "sitelogo.png", click Add Files or Images.
- The logo image should be added to the /site-assets/images/
- Once in the correct folder, you will want to upload your image named "sitelogo.png" to the folder
- Select from the folder contents toolbar
- Choose the image you wish to use and click Open.
- The file will appear with its name in the blank next to it. The name MUST be "sitelogo.png" or else the site will not be able to set the image as your logo.
- Click Save.
If a logo already exists and you would like to change it:
- While you are logged in as a user with permission to edit the site, navigate to the main page.
- Click on Contents in the top Editing bar.
- Find the folder named "Site Assets". You can also use the search field at the top of your page to find this folder.
- Within the Site Assets folder, find the Images folder.
- Find the file associated with the current logo and select it
- Now select "Edit" from the main menu
- Click the option for Replace with new image.
- Click Choose File. Select the image you would like to upload.
- Click Save.
Troubleshooting your logo
If you add your logo to your site using the Add New > Image menu option at the top of the page, it may not show up correctly. Follow these steps to resolve the problem.
- Navigate to the image. Look at the URL. The last section before "/view" will contain the "Short Name" for the image. This is different from the Title that is shown when you navigate to the image.
- To fix this, go to the Contents view for the folder in which the image resides, and then click the checkbox next to the file and click Rename.
- A page displaying both the Title and Short Name will appear. As long as no other image already has the Short Name "sitelogo, png", you can change the image's Short Name to this and click Save.
- You'll now see the image appear correctly as the site's logo.
